Inside Pandora’s Box: The Prominence of Predatory Journals

Predatory journals are a growing problem contaminating all domains of science across the globe. A coordinated response by all stakeholders (researchers, institutions, funders, regulators and patients) will be needed to stop the influence of these illegitimate journals.

Dr. David Moher is a Senior Scientist with the Ottawa Methods Centre, Clinical Epidemiology Program, Ottawa Health Research Institute (OHRI) an Associate Professor in the School of Epidemiology, Public Health and Preventive Medicine at the University of Ottawa and holds a University Research Chair. Dr. Moher has a Masters degree in Epidemiology and a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics His research interest include Systematic reviews and meta-analyses including network meta-analysis. Journalology (publication science), including reporting guidelines.
