Women in Defence & Security: Boundless Leadership in Defence & Security - Influence and Persuasion in the Absence of Authority

Wednesday, November 15, 2017, 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

WiDS and the Telfer School of Management are pleased to present another exciting professional development workshop and networking reception on Wednesday, November 15th 2017: "Boundless Leadership - Influence and Persuasion in the Absence of Authority in Defence and Security."

Brigadier-General Frances Allen, Director-General, Information Management Operations, with the Department of National Defence, will be the featured keynote speaker at the Reception and Networking event.

Established in 2005, Women in Defense and Security (WiDS) is a non-partisan organization of women and men who aim to promote and support the advancement of women in careers related to Canadian defence and security industries. The purpose of WiDS is two-fold: to highlight defence and security as very attractive career options for Canadian women; and to provide a forum for those in the industry to come together and network.

In just over a decade, WiDS has emerged as one of the country’s leading advocates for women in leadership positions in defence and security – from a handful of members meeting in downtown Ottawa to the more than 2,200 members – men and women – from all levels of Canada’s public and private sectors, industry, military and police organizations today.
