Problem Solving in Complex Environments (Innovation Theme)
Tuesday, November 21, 2017, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
After having tackled the tasks of problem finding, problem solving and solutions scaling, students will now work in small teams to build an engagement platform that will mobilize the support of stakeholders for an innovation mission. The task is to go abroad for 4-6 months and lead the efforts of a cohort of 10-15 innovators to tackle a complex, wicked social problem. The goal of the exercise is not to produce a plan that will deliver predetermined outcomes but to build a stage that will allow good, valuable outcomes to emerge during the mission. The challenges are social and global. The task of the teams is to convince two stakeholders groups to support them. The first group will be their peers who will act as representatives of potential participant. The second one will be the guests who will act as the philanthropic bankers of funders.
