Information Session: Costco
Wednesday, March 2, 2016, 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Costco Wholesale is a multi-billion dollar global retailer with warehouse club operations in eight countries. We are the recognized leader in our field, dedicated to quality in every area of our business and respected for our outstanding business ethics. Despite our large size and explosive international expansion, we continue to provide a family atmosphere in which our employees thrive and succeed. Costco’s commitment to quality and value in the merchandise we offer our members is not only the cornerstone of our business; it’s also one of the foundations of our Code of Ethics.
The first Canadian Costco Wholesale warehouse opened in 1985 in Burnaby, BC. During the first 8 years of operations in Canada, customers (called members) needed to be business owners or work for the government to be eligible for membership. In 1993, Costco changed these requirements and opened membership to businesses and the general public.
As Costco continues to grow, the development of our employees remains a critical element of our future success. It is with this in mind that we offer our employees the support needed to attend and graduate from college or university.
AS A BUSY STUDENT: Our COLLEGE STUDENT RETENTION PROGRAM (C.S.R.P.) will allow you to work at Costco during your school breaks and take time off from work during your school year. Participation in CSRP will enable employees who are eligible for this program to retain their original hire dates and keep their accumulated hours toward their next increase. In short, if a student is with us for four years while attending post-secondary school on a full-time basis, they will accumulate four years of seniority and a wage commensurate with their total of accumulated hours worked
