Crossing the finish line (alive): Self-management through PhD project management
Le lundi 11 décembre 2017, de 8 h 30 à 11 h 30
Managing a research project is a challenge for even the most senior researchers. It is an even bigger challenge for graduate students who must learn the trade and perform well in the end. Getting to the finish line requires specific knowledge and skills most of which are taught in the program. However, two skills are not taught: the management of the research project and the management of one's affect during the project. The two are linked. A lack of skill in managing the project creates delays and re-work which in turn create anxiety. Too much anxiety and managing the project on top of everything that is required in the program adds to the difficulties. This workshop will bridge this skill gap.
After this workshop, participants will:
- have new skills to manage their research project
- be better equipped to manage their anxiety
