Come learn more about our DARE (Developing Accelerated Retail Experience) graduate programs which include: DARE 1, a one year rotational leadership development program based in home office, and DARE 3, a three year leadership development program in which candidates gain operational and management expertise in the field prior to entering a strategic role within Home Office.

DARE 1 - Merchnadising Leadership Program

Is a one-year, Home Office placement where participants rotate through cross-functional areas to experience first hand how those teams support the business. The program starts in store Operations, Merchandising & Ecommerce and then continues with elective rotations of the participant’s choice which may include a stint in strategy, supply chain, private label and strategic sourcing or marketing.

DARE 3 - Operations Leadership Program

Is a three-year program providing a foundational understanding of operational process and procedures, combined with change leadership. Participants in this stream spend a year learning store operations, a year in a role leading operations, followed by a final rotation in the Home Office where participants leverage their operational learning’s.

DARE students will be tasked with solving a real world Walmart business case and will present their recommendations to the executive team. The program also has a strong mentorship component where each DARE associate is partnered with cross-functional mentors at different levels of the organization for continuous development.

To be eligible for the DARE program you must be a fourth year student graduating December 2016 OR Spring 2017 with a history of giving back to the community and a passion for changing the future of retail.
